About Us
The Guam Association of REALTORS® was founded on November 4, 1971, initially known as the Guam Board of REALTORS®. It became affiliated with the National Association of REALTORS® in 1974 and transitioned into a non-profit organization in 2006. Today, the Association boasts a membership of approximately 600 individuals and includes around 120 member brokerages and firms.

Association Presidents
The president of a real estate association serves as the chief elected leader, responsible for guiding the organization’s vision, strategy, and governance. Key duties include presiding over meetings, representing the association publicly, working with the board and staff to implement policies, and ensuring alignment with the association's mission. The president also plays a vital role in member engagement, advocacy efforts, and fostering industry relationships.
Emeritus
An Emeritus member of a real estate association is typically a retired or long-standing member who has made significant contributions to the organization. Although they no longer hold an active leadership role, their primary function is to serve as an advisor, providing guidance, sharing their expertise, and supporting the association’s initiatives. Emeritus members may also be recognized for their achievements and continue to participate in certain activities, offering valuable historical perspective and wisdom.
REALTOR® of the Year
The Realtor of the Year award recognizes an outstanding member of the Guam Association of Realtors (GAR) for exceptional professional achievements, community involvement, and contributions to the real estate industry. The recipient is typically selected based on their leadership, dedication to ethical standards, and consistent efforts to improve the local real estate market. This prestigious honor highlights their impact on the profession and their commitment to supporting the association’s mission.
